About
Christian Corral Burau is a researcher and practitioner in sustainable city development under climate change, specialising in socio-spatial resilience in informal settlements of the Global South.
Awarded summa cum laude for his doctoral work (Dr.-Ing.) in a cotutelle programme between Leibniz Universität Hannover and Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie São Paulo (DAAD scholarship), he developed an interdisciplinary Scenario Framework integrating qualitative and quantitative methods, open-source data, and computational tools for urban scenario exploration and evaluation.
Proyectual Studio
Founded in 2018 as a response to spatial inequalities witnessed growing up in Ecuador. Based between Latin America and Europe, the practice weaves critical research, collective processes, and design experimentation to address urban complexity—particularly in informal settlements and climate-vulnerable territories. Guided by decolonial perspectives, Proyectual Studio creates space for voices and practices often excluded from urban transformation.
